It is a mourning period for the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion and the churches in the Diocese of Sokoto as the burial date of their Bishop who died in active service draws near.

Sokoto Diocese and the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, have lost a vocal and cerebral Clergyman and Bishop, His Lordship, the Rt. Rev. Augustine Omole, Ph.D., the Bishop of Sokoto Diocese.
He joined the Saints Triumphant two months ago, the 8th of April, 2021. This was barely seven days after celebrating the Maundy Thursday in his Cathedral. He was pictured while washing the feet of his priests and members of the Anglican Communion in demonstration of Jesus teaching.
Meanwhile, Bishop Augustine Akinyele Omole was the serving Bishop of Sokoto Diocese in Anglican Communion before his death. this was made public via the Anglican Clergy and Laity Forum after it was shared by an insider, Yinka Joe-Fadile.
According to reports, the rt. Rev’d Dr. Augustine Akinyele Omole died of injuries he sustained. He was reported to be involved in a vehicle accident and a few days later, he died.

Meanwhile, the burial date for the late Bishop Akinyele Omole has been stipulated. This was according to the Anglican Diocese of Sokoto. The burial holds as follows:
Service of Songs:
Wed. 26th May 2021. Venue: Holy Trinity Cathedral (Anglican Diocese of Sokoto) 45, Bello Way, Sokoto, Sokoto State. Time: 4 pm.
Wake Keep:
Friday 11th June 2021. Venue: Holy Trinity Cathedral (Anglican Diocese of Ido-Ani) Ido-Ani, Ose LGA. Ondo State. Time: 2 pm.
Funeral Service:
A funeral service in honor of Bishop A. Omole will hold on Sat. 12th June 2021. Venue: Holy Trinity Cathedral (Anglican Diocese of Ido-Ani) Ido-Ani, Ose LGA. Ondo State. Â Time: 10am.

The Rt. Rev’d Dr. Augustine Akinyele Omole died at the age of 66. He was born in 1955.
However, he was consecrated as a Bishop in July 2000, and exactly July last year, he celebrated the 20th years of Episcopal Anniversary.
