The Abia Chapter of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has commended outgoing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for maintaining peace and security in the state throughout his tenure. Speaking in an interview on Sunday, the chapter’s chairman, Okey Nwankwo, praised Ikpeazu for creating an enabling environment for lawful economic and social activities to thrive.
Nwankwo emphasized that the outgoing governor had recorded significant developments, particularly in fostering peace and understanding among the people of Abia. He noted that Ikpeazu had also demonstrated that Abia was one of the most peaceful states in the country. In light of this, Nwankwo advised the incoming Governor, Alex Otti, to follow Ikpeazu’s template for maintaining peace and security in the state.
Nwankwo, who is also the Chairman of the South-East and South-South Presidents’ Forum, pledged the group’s support to Otti, stating that they would assist his government to ensure that he succeeds in his new role. He expressed optimism that Otti, with his wealth of experience in the financial sector, would provide good governance in the state.
