The beginning of a New Era begins in the Mbamili Anglican diocese as the New Bishop-elect Of Mbamili Diocese Emerges. The Archbishops, Bishops, and Primate met over the week and held an election and a new Bishop-elect has emerged to become the New Bishop of Mbamili Diocese. The Rt. Revd. Obiorah Uzochukwu (New Bishop-elect Mbamili Diocese)



Mbamili Diocese in Anglican Communion of Niger Province has begun a new era as her new Bishop-elect was named over the week by the Church of Nigeria.

The long lingered issue of ‘who will the mitre fall on the head for the Diocese’ has been finally resolved. The Ven Obiorah Uzochukwu has been elected as the Bishop-elect of the Mbamili Diocese.

The new Bishop-elect is a native of Isilo in Anambra State. He was ordained in the Diocese of the Niger. Before his election, Ven. Uzochukwu was the Sub-Dean of Cathedral Church of All Saints Onitsha. He was nominated and won the majority of votes in the house of Bishops to emerge as the new Bishop-elect to oversee the affairs of the Mbamili Diocese.

Update

The Rt. Revd. Obiorah Uzochukwu has been consecrated and has now become the new Bishop of Mbamili Diocese. He has replaced Rt. Rev. who retired in 2020.

He was officially consecrated and enthroned on February 2021. Mbamili Diocese is under the province of Niger. It was carved out from the Diocese on the Niger.
